Bharatiya Stories is a web portal for kids. The portal is started to promote dissemination of stories from Ithihasas and puranas. It also contains information on Indic culture and includes but not limited to temple architecture, folklore, historical figures and Indic practices.

The site aims to populate content through crowd sourcing. Hence most of the data will be sourced from the public domain and is subject to related limitations, if any. The site does not purport to be an authority on culture, history or religion. There could be variants of the story / narrative across regions and the site does not intend to negate / alter the same.

The stories and information on practices shared will be shared without any judgement on the practices. Nor will there be any effort / attempt to rewrite anything to suit current day sensibilities and thinking.

The site is intended for children and to that extent will ensure that the language is simple and child friendly.
